To learn more about each plan in details, check out our documentation on Introduction to Daton's Subscription Plans and Billing Cycles.
Note:
The details below apply specifically to users on the Lite and Growth plans. To make changes to your Enterprise plan, please contact our sales team.
Subscription Plan Upgrade
- Lite and Growth plan users can upgrade their subscription plan at any time through their account.
- The upgrade takes effect immediately.
- The prorated amount for the upgraded plan will be invoiced and must be paid on the same day.
- At the start of the next billing cycle, the total rate for the upgraded plan will be charged.
Proration Calculation
Example: Given that the current billing cycle has 30 days, on the 20th day, you upgrade from $500 plan to $800 plan, the prorated amount will be calculated as follows:
Prorated amount = (New plan price for remaining days of the billing cycle + Previous plan price for used up days of the billing cycle) - Previous plan price
Prorated amount = $(800*10/30 + 500*20/30) -$500 = $600 - $500 = $100
- 800 * (10/30) → New plan price for remaining days of the billing cycle
- 500* (20/30) → Previous plan price for used up days of the billing cycle
So while upgrading, you will have to pay $100.
Proration ensures customers are only charged for the plan they used during each portion of the billing cycle.
Subscription Plan Downgrade
- Customers can downgrade their subscription at any time through their account.
- Downgrades take effect at the start of the next billing cycle.
- Customers can continue to use the current plan until the downgrade takes effect.
- Any scheduled downgrade can be cancelled from the request tab.
